I want to be His hands!
Psalm 68:4-5
Sing to God, sing praise to his name, extol him who rides on the clouds -- his name is the Lord -- and rejoice before him. A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling.
Verse 5 which begins with "a father to the fatherless" seems to be out of context with verse 4. Psalm 68 begins with the words "Let God Arise" and verse 4 is the pinnacle of celebration as God arises to scatter our enemies.
In verse 5 God brings us back down to earth to remind us that while we have a lot of reason to celebrate when we are walking in his blessing, someone else needs a blessing too.
In other words, God blesses us so that we can be a blessing to others.
So as he rides on the clouds and loads us with benefits every day (v19), we need to look around and be aware of the opportunities He places in our lives to be His hands of blessing, specially to the fatherless and widows.
I want to be His hands! How about you?
